Streetwear brand inspired by culture and ambition.
Overview
AYWA is a fashion brand that cares a lot about its culture. They worked with us to create a scalable ecommerce store from scratch. They wanted a website that works well, looks nice, and express what their brand's clearly about. Plus, they needed it to be able to grow as their business grows. We helped them by crafting their visual identity and building a strong, headless, online shopping experience that makes it easy for customers to buy things, feel good about their shopping experience, and remember the brand.
The Design Process
Their logo, colour scheme, and general visual direction were created during our first phase of collaborative brand exploration. With the help of Figma, Illustrator & Slack, every design choice was chosen to reflect the brand's modern edge and cultural roots, from font to tone of voice. From the start, we also helped with copywriting and SEO, making sure that important landing pages were both search engine optimised and easy to use. The finished look is bold, simple, and adaptable.
The Development Process
A custom Next.js application was used to create the frontend, which was then coupled with Shopify's Shopfront API to manage checkout, cart interactions, and product listings. When server side logic was required, we set up special routes for that under /app/api. We managed user data, subscriptions, and authentication on the backend using Laravel. For a more efficient login process, we allowed people to log in with their Google account, and Jest was used to rigorously test all logic to guarantee reliability prior to launch. People can sign up to get updates and special deals on a page that’s live, but the whole website is still locked with a password until we’re ready to share it with everyone.
